Description
The design of the 9P network file protocol (originally from Plan 9) seems to map nicely to the design of HelenOS VFS. It could be a nice demonstrator of the capabilities of the VFS and networking stack, but it could be also quite practical (QEMU uses 9P over Virtio for native host/guest file system sharing).
