439	SLIP IP link provider	Jiri Svoboda		"SLIP is a protocol for transmitting IP packets over serial lines. It is not an IETF standard, but it is very simple and widely supported in operating systems. 

Implementing a SLIP IP link provider is very simple (unlike PPP). It could be used for network connectivity to HelenOS in emulators which do not emulate any (HelenOS-supported) network adapter.
