    5 The sparc64 port was created by Jakub Jermar as part of his master thesis which was defended in 2007. The initial port supported UltraSPARC II and similar processors. In 2008, Pavel Rimsky, as part of his master thesis, enhanced that support to new processors based on the UltraSPARC III processor. In 2010, he added support for the UltraSPARC T1 processor.
